It's almost been a year since deadly tornadoes swept across Alabama and killed 253 people.
A prayer service will be held Friday, April 27th at 9:00a-m on the steps of the state capitol in Montgomery.
An Alabama state flag representing each person killed in the tornadoes will be displayed on the grounds of the capitol the week of April 23rd through the 27th.
Governor Robert Bentley will proclaim Friday as a "day of remembrance."
The proclamation calls for a statewide moment of silence at 4:27 P.M. to honor the memory of those who were killed.
