DALEVILLE -- Police officers with the Daleville Department of Public Safety invited the community to sit down and chat with them over a cup of coffee on Friday morning.
"Coffee with a Cop" was held at Bojangles on Daleville Avenue. Some Daleville residents spoke with officers about community concerns while most stopped by to offer their appreciation.
Enterprise resident Mimosa Whiting said she thinks the one-on-one opportunity to talk with law enforcement officers, shows the officers care about their neighbors' concerns.
"They have a servant's heart," Whiting said. "People probably have a lot of misconceptions about what it means to serve their community, especially in this capacity as being a police officer, and I think it's great they're willing to sit down and have a cup of coffee."
This is the first time DDPS has hosted a "coffee with a cop" event.
