Police say this crime was more popular in the northern and eastern states and now it has trickled down to the Wiregrass.
They say although the credit card information is taken here people from overseas are using the information.
Making it difficult for police to track down the criminals.
Another problem, people are not notifying the police.
"We will get them in bunches and it will stop and we will get them again its really hard to identify where it is coming from because a lot of people don't report it," said Investigator Curtis Stephens from the Dothan Police Department.
In an effort to cut down on these crimes, police are advising people to check their bank statements several times a day to check for unauthorized purchases.
