Houston County Sheriff deputies pulled over this white van on Highway 231 after an informant tipped them off to illegal goods being sold.
"I received a call from the informant and they told me that this individual had a van load of counterfeit items."
A load deputies say was under this blue tarp behind the back doors of the van.
Nearly 5-thousand CD's, almost 2-thousand DVD's, five hundred and 31 pairs of shoes, 41 hand bags, several computers, and accessories all counterfeit.
"We currently have four felony charges relating to the counterfeit items and with charges to follow."
And the charges are adding up
"According to the law in the state of Alabama for every seven DVD's you have counterfeit movies that's a separate felony charge."
"And sheriff's deputies say its counterfeit bust like this one that helps keep southeast Alabama safe."
"This individual is from west Africa it's an Islamic country and a lot of this that's being made off of counterfeit items here that are sold in the united states are going back to fund terrorism."
One of the many reasons sheriffs deputies say they are happy this merchandise is off the street.
Police will destroy all of the counterfeit items.
They arrested 40 year old Idrissa Gory in the case.
He could also face deportation.
