We have a correction for you.
Earlier this week we told you the deadline to obtain a new Alabama Star ID was next year, but you actually have more time than that.
People born after 1964, will need one of the new ID’s by 2016.
The new cards are Alabama’s way of complying with federal "real ID law."
You'll need it to board flights or enter federal buildings.
People born before 1964 have until 2017 to get the new ID.
Alabamians can apply at driver's license exam offices with proper documents.
