CORDOVA, Ala. (AP) -- Officials of the U.S. Department of Agriculture will be in Cordova on Thursday to announce major funding.

The department says the acting administrator of business and cooperative programs, John Padalino, and the state director for rural development, Ronald Davis, will announce more than $3.2 million in rural development grants and loans.

Cordova will use the money for improvements to its water system and wastewater program.

The announcement is set for 2:30 p.m. at City Hall.
