TROY, AL - Today, Pike County District Attorney Tom Anderson announced the sentencing of Andre Lamon Ellis of Troy for the brutal attacks and rapes of two young women residing in the Hunter’s Mountain Trailer Park on March 26th, 2012.

On January 18th a Pike County jury returned verdicts of GUILTY for two counts of Rape in the First Degree and one count of Burglary in the Second Degree against Ellis after a weeklong trial.

This morning, Circuit Judge Jeff W. Kelley sentenced Ellis to serve eighty-five (85) years in each conviction of Rape in the First Degree and twenty-five (25) years in the conviction of Burglary in the Second Degree. Judge Kelley further ordered that those sentences are to be served concurrently.

District Attorney Anderson lauded the sentence handed down by the Court, stating that the strong sentence “gives these victims a sense of justice and further serves as a message to would-be offenders that this will not be tolerated in Pike County. Anyone who perpetrates such a crime in the Twelfth Circuit is going to spend many years behind bars.”

Anderson further commended the victims for their bravery and willingness to seek justice, the Troy Police Department for their tireless efforts in solving the case and Assistant District Attorneys Scherryl Harrison and Chris Kaminski for their prosecution of the case at trial.
