DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) -- Construction soon begins on a new clock tower in Dothan.
The Dothan City Commission awarded the bid this week to build a landmark that residents hope will serve as a visual gateway to the city's downtown.
Planning Director Todd McDonald told The Dothan Eagle that he hopes the tower will become a focal point for city activities and a gathering place for visitors.
The total project is expected to cost $180,000.
