James Brooks isn't sitting quietly anymore.
Midland City Resident James Brooks said, "When it rains at my place, the drainage isn't big enough to hold the water.”
That water rushes through his house and eventually washes away pillars that hold up the structure.
So brooks came to Thursday night's forum in Midland City, hoping state Senator Harri Anne Smith and Representative Steve Claus, of Ozark would hear his plea.
Senator Smith said, “It's up to the city council to prioritize those issues.”
Lenora Baker spoke up too and says things have changed dramatically at the Midland City Library over the past five years.
Baker said, “There was hardly anybody coming in. We only had one computer, now we have 19.”
A growing need Senator Smith decided to do something about.
"The library got a thousand dollars that they'll be able to use towards new books and things they need.”
Brooks says he's sure something will change for him, too.
“It makes you upset sometimes, but you just got to hold your peace.”
A peace he hopes will help bring the missing ‘pieces’ back to his home.
