“We have done our job and will continue to do that.” Valeska said.

The Alabama State Bar Association has dismissed a complaint against Houston County District Attorney Doug Valeska.
Attorney Mark Overall filed the complaint in November, after a grand jury ruled the shooting of Christopher Thomas justifiable.
Thomas was shot and killed by a Dothan police officer in June.
Overall believed Valeska intimidated the jury, and wanted him suspended.

“Because as the district attorney he has discretion and the discretion is very wide. So because of that I thought it was kind of borderline, but I guess it really doesn't surprise me that it was dismissed.” Attorney Mark Overall said.

Valeska said he was confident the complaint would be dropped.
However, he said the process has taken time that could have been spent on more important things.

“I got murders, capital murders, rapes, rapists to try when I got to stop and answer a complaint from someone who is just seeking publicity that they don’t know what they are talking about.” Valeska said.

Although this complaint was dismissed, overall says there are other complaints still pending against Valeska and multiple agencies on the federal level.

“The bar was just one of the agencies that was contacted, the department of justice, fbi, the attorney general's office, the us attorney's office all of these offices where similar investigations were requested to be opened.” Overall said.

And Overall says Valeska wasn't the only one to blame.

“I tell people Doug Valeska wasn't necessarily the focus of this in the first place. He was just part of a series of events that seems to keep happening.” Overall said.

Valeska, meanwhile, says he and other agencies have done nothing wrong.

“We have done our job and will continue to do that.” Valeska said.

Valeska says he did not intimidate witnesses in the Thomas case.
He says he gave many opportunities for witnesses to come forward.
