Community Build Draws Dozens to Wiregrass Park

Dothan, AL - Dozens of volunteers showed up to help build a playground at Wiregrass Park Saturday.

Dothan firemen and police officers, Fort Rucker soldiers, and multiple civic groups from the area all volunteered.

The new playground features slides, a track ride, climbing wall and other pieces.

Volunteers say it's always a good feeling to give back.

"We've been shedding sweat, blood and tears. We've been out here all morning since 8 and it's to help the kids. We're building a playground and it will be good for the community. If you keep things like this up it will keep kids off the streets," said Shonquella Reynolds.

"We love to give back to the community and help everybody out. It's just fun," said Kristy Jolly.

Lunch was also provided.
