ANNISTON, Ala. (AP) - The city of Anniston is considering a new rule that could bar municipal employees from saying anything negative about the city on social networking sites like Facebook.
The policy would ban city workers from saying anything negative about the city and its officials on networking sites if they identify themselves as city employees. They'd be free to say anything they like if there's no indication that they work for the town.
The City council discussed the new policy on Tuesday, with some members saying the rules were needed and others expressing concern about the restrictions.
The council is set to consider the new rule again next week.
