Charges against Robert Lee Michael are piling up.
Sheriff Andy Hughes said, “Right now we have another additional 13 charges of child pornography that we have presented to the grand jury.”
Police say Michael ran into the woods last month after a teenage girl's mom found him in bed with her daughter. Now there's more to that case.
Sheriff Hughes said, “We do have a total of three pictures now that came off Michaels cell phone and we have identified those pictures as being the victim from the original charge where he was caught in the young girls house.”
Now police say there might be other victims.
Sheriff Hughes said, “We have pictures off his cell phone, off DVD’s that we found during a search warrant and we're just getting started going through his computer.”
Investigators believe they have enough evidence now to keep Michael in jail until they can take the case to court.
And that's the District Attorney's main priority right now.
District Attorney Doug Valeska said, “Hopefully I have no judge that will give him bond and put him back in the community that's why we'll fight any bond reduction because we think he's a danger to that victim.”
Sheriff Hughes says they're looking at more files on Michael’s computer. If they find more pictures, he could face even more charges.
Valeska is glad they've taken Michael out of the classroom, but now they want to make sure he's kept off the streets.
Valeska said, “This is a teacher who was dealing with our most valuable asset he preyed upon the most valuable asset we have is our children and that's why he's a danger to the community
A community that is still in shock.
