Robert Byrd was sworn-in for his 7th term as Houston County coroner Thursday.
The ceremony took place in Judge Henry Binford's courtroom at the Houston County courthouse.
Byrd lists budget shortfalls as his main obstacle, saying that because the county's crime lab had to be closed, many autopsies must be done in Montgomery.
"It's great to have that kind of support. It's not my first term, and to have this continued support is just outstanding. I'm just humbled by the citizens of Houston County to give me that opportunity. And I’ll do them right. I will," says Byrd.
Byrd has been coroner of Houston County since 1987
