BREWTON, Ala. (AP) -- A 6-year-old kindergarten student has been killed in a single-vehicle crash in south Alabama.
Authorities say Alexis Pugh was pronounced dead on the scene of a crash north of Brewton on Alabama State Route 41 Friday morning.
AL.com reports a car being driven by the girl's 27-year-old mother ran off the road, hit a telephone pole and overturned.
Authorities say the woman and a 31-year-old passenger are in stable condition at DW McMillan Memorial Hospital.
Officials say seatbelts were not being used at the time of the crash and speed was a factor.
