BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Birmingham police who pulled over a car being driven erratically discovered that the three people inside had been shot.

The discovery came as police in Brighton were investigating a report of shots being fired there around 5 p.m. Saturday. The shooting is believed to have happened in Brighton.

The Birmingham News reports that two men and a woman inside the car had been shot. The side of the red compact car had numerous bullet holes.

Two victims were taken to Princeton Baptist Medical Center, while the third was taken to UAB Hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available. The shooting remains under investigation.
