Gov. Bentley Talks Budget

During his visit, he discussed the current and future state budget.

As unemployment sits at 9.1%, he says the next few years are going to be difficult.

“The 2011 budget is not good because we do not have enough money for what we budgeted for. We just do not have the money and we're going to have to make further cuts beyond the 15-percent proration next year in the general fund,” said Gov. Bentley.

Gov. Bentley says when it comes to making cuts Medicare and jail services are not in the running.

He says they are both already stretched too thin.
