PRATTVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- Gov. Robert Bentley plans to visit a Prattville church reopens its doors two years after it was being ravaged by a tornado.
The governor was scheduled to attend the dedication ceremony Sunday for Boone's Chapel Baptist Church. Much of the church property was destroyed when a tornado struck on April 15, 2011.
The church recently completed a new 17,000-square-foot building that includes a worship and recreation room for children, staff and administrative office as well as a safe room where residents can take shelter during future severe weather hazards.
Bentley was scheduled to deliver brief remarks as well as a closing pray at the end of the Sunday service.
