The city of Dothan will donate several fixtures to a ball field in Dale County.

Tuesday city commissioners agreed to transfer the lights to the Dale County Board of Education.

The lights will be used at the little league ball field behind Midland City, Elementary School in Midland City.

Officials will dedicate the field to the late bus driver Charles Poland who was shot and killed in the hostage situation last month.

"These are some old ball field lighting that the city took down years ago, they've been in a warehouse. the midland city group ball field association about a month ago sent us a light request that we donate those lights to them," said Dothan City Manager Mike West.

Officials will dedicate the field April 5th at 6 p.m.
The public is invited.
