DOTHAN, AL - A state medical examiner says an inmate who was found dead at the Houston County Jail last week died of natural causes.
Houston County coroner Robert Byrd says an autopsy report submitted by Doctor Steven Dunton concludes that 53-year-old Donald Ray Floyd died from cardiac arrest due to coronary artery disease.
Floyd was found dead in the medical clinic of the Houston County Jail last Monday, just hours after undergoing a procedure at a Dothan hospital.
He was being held on a theft of property charge.
