ASHFORD, Ala. (AP) -- The Ashford police chief was injured when he was hit by a vehicle.
Reports say Chief Jim Stanley was standing in the roadway directing traffic when he was hit around 4 p.m. Friday. Cook says there were power lines down on the road because of stormy weather.
Stanley was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center, where he was treated for a broken leg and other minor injuries.
