Life is different now for Troy University senior Caitlin Coker

Coker said, "Now we go everywhere together if we do go for walks at night we take pairs of people the whole group.”

She didn't think violence would ever happen on her campus.

But March 26th changed everything. Two sexual assaults at a mobile home park near campus took her away security, along with everyone else's.

Coker said, "Of course you always hear about this stuff because it's a college campus but you never really thought about it or experienced it until it actually happened.”

Troy mayor Jimmy C. Lunsford said he’s overjoyed at the arrest.

Lunsford said, “One of the greatest phone calls I’ve ever received is last night when the chief called and said we've got him.”

Authorities are over the moon that the case is finally closed. But they say staying safe is always an open book.

Troy Police Department investigator Danny Barron said, “Continue to be on the alert, if you see something that doesn't look right, because you never know who's living in your community if you see something that doesn't look right please contact the police department.”

Coker agrees, and says she's already seeing a change on campus.

"People are more skeptical, you can tell they're on their toes more and i don't think it was a good thing that it happened, but people need to be more aware.”

I don't see how they'd be able to do that. And who would want to, really ? I think one go around with that trash is enough.I wouldn't want to have him near me again.
