CAMDEN, Ala. (AP) - Former state Rep. James Thomas is to be arraigned in Wilcox County on charges he sexually abused a 17-year-old student at Wilcox-Central High School.
Thomas is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Wednesday by Wilcox County District Judge Jo Celeste Pettway.
Thomas of Selma was charged in November with sexual abuse of the
student at the school, where he is the principal.
Thomas is currently on paid administrative leave from the principal's job. He served in the Alabama House for 28 years before losing this year in the Democratic Party primary.
