As part of a traditional birthday ceremony, a colonel cut a cake with a sword.
Fort Rucker isn't the only post celebrating.
"It’s a day we celebrate our heritage all the way back we're 237 years old that army is today, all the way back to the continental army. And it’s just a way for us to help remember and celebrate the heritage that has come forward since then." Colonel James Muskopf said.
To continue celebrating the army’s birthday, Fort Rucker will hold "music under the stars."
It's going to be June 22nd at 6:30 on the main parade field.
All civilians are welcome.
