For almost 50 years the benefit has helped raise money to fund programs for the club.

Through its time, the benefit has changed names but the effort behind it has stayed the same.

“We don't want to kids, you know when they get out of school to become a latch key kid, they go home and turn the latch and hide that key, we want them to get involved in any type of educational programs with homework assistance and goals for graduating, street awareness you know gang resistance, tobacco free,” said Jake Colson, President of the Boys and Girls Club of the Wiregrass.

The organization hopes to raise 50-thousand dollars by the end of the year.
