The Korean War started 63 years ago today. The Hyundai factory in Eufaula held a Veterans Appreciation Day at the VFW.
More than 50 veterans, including some that served in the Korean were there. Awards for recognition were given out and they watched movies about old and new Korea.
Bill Graham, a Korean War Veteran said, “They gave me a plaque and said I was a hero. I don’t feel like a hero. I got to know some of the Koreans well and they didn’t pray for peace. What they prayed for is that their country would be reunited. Of course North and South Korea are still separate nations. But they were praying everyday and I bet they are still praying.”
