MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- The Alabama Legislature is going to let voters decide if they want to update two parts of the state Constitution.
The Senate gave final approval Tuesday night to updated versions of the Constitution's articles of banking and corporations. The articles, which passed the House earlier, will now go before voters in the general election Nov. 6.
The two articles are part of an effort led by Republican Rep. Paul DeMarco of Homewood to update Alabama's Constitution article by article. The two articles do not change any taxes and do not address gambling.
