Budget cuts may lead to layoffs in Alabama’s judicial branch.
Chief Justice Roy Moore says it will put a burden on the court system.
“We don’t have security that we used to have,” explained Moore. “We don’t have personnel that we used to have and naturally the court moves slower when there is a lack of funding.”
Moore disagreed with the decisions of lawmakers and the governor to divert funds to the state’s pre-k program.
The Chief of Justice says the court system should not be underfunded.
