This week many people in the Wiregrass have had their opinions about a controversy surrounding a Headland High School Student.

Several news sources have even reported the Superintendent of Alabama Schools got involved. However, State Superintendent Dr. Thomas Bice wants to correct those reports.

At first Aaron Sanders was not allowed to participate in graduation because he didn't pass all the required sections of the state graduation exam. However, his family filed an injunction Tuesday with a judge. Hours later he ruled Sanders could participate in last night's ceremony.

Some news outlets reported Dr. Bice spoke with local school superintendents about this issue. But Bice says that's not true.

In a statement released Wednesday Bice said, "This is NOT my position - these policies are local - all I shared was the reasoning behind our move away from the grad exam and I have had no conversation with anyone regarding the issue."
