MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Two Alabama prison officers have been fired and four more have quit following an investigation into the death of a state inmate.
Corrections officials on Tuesday announced the results of an investigation into the death of inmate Rocrast Mack. Prison
officials said he attacked a female officer at the prison on Aug. 4
and was fatally injured by officers who responded.
The department says an investigation showed officers violated prison rules, and two were fired. Four more resigned rather than being dismissed.
The department says state agents determined that possible crimes occurred, and Commissioner Richard Allen has asked prosecutors to
review possible charges.
