BIRMINGHAM, Alabama Authorities say an Adamsville man has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges of receiving, possessing and distributing child

U.S. District Judge Scott Coogler also ordered 44-year-old Gregory Scott Kelton to a lifetime of supervision by the federal probation office after his release from prison.

During Wednesday's sentencing hearing, Kelton apologized for his
actions and asked for forgiveness.

A sentencing memo from the U.S. Attorney's Office states that Kelton was accused of using a sophisticated computer file sharing program to receive and distribute images of children being raped.
