2 Wounded in Fairfield Mall Shooting

FAIRFIELD, Ala. (AP) - Two men wounded during a shooting at a Fairfield shopping mall Tuesday are recovering from non life-threatening injuries.

Authorities have not identified the two men.

The shooting happened in the parking lot near the main entrance of Western Hills Mall.

Fairfield Police Capt. Beverly Hardy says around 11 a.m., three men ran from the mall. Witnesses tell police two jumped into a silver Ford Crown Victoria and the other man shot them through the windows.

Hardy says the wounded men ran into the mall to seek help and the suspect fled. Authorities believe the shooting stemmed from an earlier altercation.
