Parole is denied for a man accused of assault in Dothan.
John Frederick Lewis appeared before a parole board today after serving 15 years of a 20 year sentence.
Lewis was convicted of assault in 1994, when he shot and wounded Clifford Ford outside of Mickey's Lounge.
Ford and his family asked District Attorney Doug Valeska to contest Lewis' parole
The board voted unanimously to deny Lewis' parole for 5 more years.
"Not only do we catch and prosecute them. We'll go to Montgomery to help keep them in prison so they can't come back to our streets and commit assault," says Valeska.
Officials say, after Lewis finishes his sentence, he will relocate to Miami

that was dumb. in 5 years he will walk out of prison a free man and not have to report to anyone. Must better to have let him out a little early and put him under a microscope of probation and make sure he's no longer a threat. if he is then you can hammer him.
