JASPER, Ala. (AP) - The Walker County Sheriff'ss Office says
officers seized more than 150 gambling machines from five locations
in a series of raids.

Sheriff's officers, along with members of the Walker County
Narcotics Enforcement Team, the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and
the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, initiated the raids
Thursday.

Sheriff John Mark Tirey says his office fielded complaints from
citizens for several months regarding illegal gambling
establishments throughout the county.

He said a list of possible locations was compiled and turned over to the ABI, which followed up with undercover investigations.

No arrests were made Thursday, but Tirey says he expects some by
Monday.
