A local convenience store held a fundraiser Wednesday

The bee line located on Westgate Parkway in Dothan was accepting donations for the Houston-Love Memorial Library.

Library officials are in the process of expanding and renovating the current building.

Wednesday's fundraiser coincided with the store's customer appreciation day.

The store gave away drinks and burgers to anyone who wanted to chow down.

Owners say it's all about the kids.

“We love the kids. 50% of my business is kids so the library is going to be good for the kids so I said let's do it, you know?” said store owner Rakeshkumar Patel.

Owners presented Mayor Mike Schmitz with a check for $250 for the library project.
