Mobile Police Investigate Double Shooting

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Mobile police have arrested a man in connection with a double shooting that left one man dead.

Police spokesman Christopher Levy tells the Press-Register newspaper that 27-year-old Darious Lathay Thomas was arrested
around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

The shooting happened around 9 p.m. Friday and 33-year-old Michael Idale Hazelwood of Mobile was pronounced dead at the scene Friday evening.

Police responding to a 911 call found a 22-year-old lying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. They also found Hazelwood dead on a street corner.

The 22-year-old man was treated at University of South Alabama Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. His name wasn't immediately released.
