A local department store is participating in a nationwide contest for local schools.
Kohl’s department store, on the Montgomery Highway, is taking part in the company's national “Back-to-School” campaign.
Customers can go to Kohl's Facebook page and submit ideas for what their school could do with half a million dollars.
The top 20 vote-getting schools will receive 500 thousand dollars each. The contest commemorates the tenth anniversary of the Kohl's cares philanthropic program, designed to give back to the communities kohl's serves.
The winning schools will be announced in late September.
