MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Police in Mobile say one of two officers injured in a traffic accident remains hospitalized.
Police on Wednesday said one of the officers, Glenn Gazzier, has been released from USA Medical Center, while the other, Mickeal Nelson, remains hospitalized in serious condition.
Police spokesman Ron Wallace says the officers were in a police car when they tried to evade a vehicle and crashed into a utility pole Tuesday morning. Wallace says the other vehicle had entered the road from a side street where a stop sign is posted.
Wallace says the police car's right front door was damaged.
He says Gazzier has been with the department for two years and one month and Nelson for one year and seven months.
