Huntsville man charged in wife's murder on trial

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A Huntsville man accused of murdering his wife in 2008 will go on trial this week.

Sixty-three-year-old Earl Junior Palmer is charged with the murder of Callie Palmer, 60. He will stand trial at the Madison County Courthouse.

Authorities say they found Callie Palmer's body near her car in January of that year, in the parking lot of Custom Chip Connections on Fisher Street, where she worked.

An investigation led them to her husband. He's also charged with possession of cocaine and violation of a protection order.
