Many restaurants are closing because of the economy, but this Abbeville favorite is closing on its own terms.
After 32 years, the owner of D&D donut in Abbeville is retiring.
"They love this place and they love my food and the crazy way we do things here," says Lorraine Danzey, owner of D&D Donut.
This is a bittersweet moment for Danzey, to see her dream come to fruition yet leave a business that's given her decades of gratification.
Danzey has all of her baking equipment up for sale, but she hopes someone will purchase the bakery soon to keep the tradition of hand-making donuts alive.
