MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Supreme Court has struck down a Greene County circuit judge's order that barred the possible seizure of electronic bingo machines at the Greenetrack casino.
The Supreme Court's ruling, made public Tuesday, said courts have only limited jurisdiction to bar law enforcement from carrying out its duties.
Circuit Judge Eddie Hardaway had ordered that 822 electronic bingo machines at Greenetrack be left in place pending a hearing. But the governor's gambling task force commander, John Tyson, appealed to the Supreme Court.
The court agreed with Tyson that Hardaway's ruling should be vacated.
