Parents and grandparents have a new way to commemorate the birth of their Alabama baby.
Three state organizations have teamed up to start selling commemorative birth certificates.
The certificates, which have designs by 3-artists, will be sold for $45.
A portion of the money raised will go into the children's trust fund, which supports the fight against child abuse and neglect.
If you would like to request a certificate call the Alabama Department of Public Health at (334) 206-5418.

I too, would like to know more details. Such as the three charities that banded together, and then a little more info on the certificates themselves. Just the other day it was reported that Puerto Rico citizens now had to completely re-issue their birth records and other documents because of the theft of ID, do the companies making these "ego" plaques have essential internal security and safeguards to prevent the loss of personal data ? When will we in the rest of the US have to "re-do" our essential documentation to safeguard our ID?

ok do some reporting on this story. What portion of the $45 goes to the trust fund? What do the other portions go to? Do the artists get a cut for each one sold? Is some money going into education? Is money going to individuals? or state agencies? Where did the idea for this come from? Mrs Kelly (my 12th grade English teacher) I wish you were teaching these reporters the 5 Ws.
