A former Dothan attorney was sentenced to 13 months in community corrections this afternoon.

The sentence was handed down for his conviction for possession of child pornography.

Randy Brackin, 63, could have faced one to 20 years in prison for each of his 11 convictions for child pornography possession, but District Judge P.B. McLauchilin opted to sentence Brackin to the community corrections program.

Brackin is facing nine additional charges. The date on when those will be tried, has not been released.

13 months!!!! That is almost as weak as the punishments handed down by our district judge in Geneva County. About as ethical too. What a crock!
