Thirty kids from around the Wiregrass are enjoying a camp designed just for them.
Kids’ ages 6 to 15 years old are spending their days at Landmark Park for the second annual Camp Sugar Falls.
The camp is designed around children coping with diabetes.
Special activities and snacks are provided for the group.
Counselors say it's a chance for them to learn more about how to handle living with the disease.
“[At] camp [the kids] always learn something new and positive and usually many things. So I know how it can help them over the years in developing and growing up and dealing with the day to day needs they have with their disease,” said Lanora Medley, committee director of Camp Sugar Falls.
Each year, 15,000 children are diagnosed with diabetes.
