State Republican party spokesman, Philip Bryan, says most counties should begin recounting votes from the June 1st primary today.

James finished in third place behind Robert Bentley and Bradley Byrne.

The recount had been in question since Attorney General Troy King, ruled James could only use the recount to file an election challenge after Bentley and Byrne face off in a runoff July 13th.

Today it was decided that the Alabama Republican party will hear James' contest on June 24th.

Secretary of State, Beth Chapman, says James is entitled to a recount before that election.
