BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Police have classified the discovery of a body in a Birmingham apartment as a homicide.
Police told The Birmingham News officers had to force their way into a residence in the 200 block of 21st Avenue South at about 11 Friday night to check on a resident.
Friends had called police because they were unable to reach the person. The victim has not been identified because family members have not been identified.
Police told The News they found evidence of a homicide inside the apartment.
The homicide was the 19th in Birmingham this year.
