MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Another Alabama candidate has turned to
YouTube to draw attention to his campaign.
A Republican candidate for the 5th Congressional District seat, Madison restaurant owner Les Phillip, has an ad on YouTube in which he contrasts his career to President Obama's. Both are black, and Phillip's ad talks about two young black men and says one, Phillip, joined the Navy and one, Obama -- in the ad's words -- "fell in with terrorists."
The ad has received about 100,000 hits on YouTube.
That's short of the 1 million hits for a YouTube video by a Republican Agriculture Commissioner candidate, Dale Peterson. Peterson's hard-hitting ad promised to run "thugs and criminals" out of state government.
