Life is tough following the loss of a family member.
For families of fallen military, finance and benefits issues can add to the stress.
The Army is working to make things easier with survivor outreach services.
Fort Rucker has now implemented the program.
The SOS program is designed to assist grieving family members with benefit coordinators, financial and counseling coordinators.
Assistance is provided to the family for as long as they need it.
"We have activities for families, children activities, things like bowling and fishing,” says Liz Legieza, Support Coordinator.
SOS works with other agencies including Casualty Affairs, Retirement Services and Veteran Affairs.
