A wiregrass man is in jail tonight, accused of placing a hidden camera in the women's restroom at a local restaurant.
Authorities say the suspect is a waiter at the Old Mexico restaurant in Geneva.
They say a woman went to go use the bathroom and noticed a small, blinking red light.
Investigators say it was a camera.
Early last Friday evening, officers with the Geneva Police Department arrested 32-year-old Arturo Ventura.
He is charged with two counts of criminal surveillance, and production and possession of child pornography.
“A patron was at the Old Mexico restaurant and noticed something peculiar in the bathroom and brought her mother in and realized it was a hidden camera,” said District Attorney Kirke Adams.
“Myself and the officer then viewed the camera to see what footage was on the camera, it was at that time that the pictures of the juveniles and adults were discovered,”
Lieutenant Ricky Morgan arrested Ventura. He says officers were able to identify two adult victims and two juvenile victims on the tape.
“Everybody that has been on the tape that has been identified has been notified,”
He says the victims were outraged by the news.
“Anytime you go to the bathroom, you expect a certain amount of privacy, and for someone to come up to you and say ‘I have a video of you going to the bathroom’, it's very disturbing,”
“You add in the fact that you know you have to go tell a mother that her 9-year-old child is on this video and just imagine the anger that's going on there,” added Lt. Morgan.
Officials wouldn't say exactly where the camera was hidden.
“All I can tell you is that it was a small cordless device that you could simply purchase in the spy shop...it was a very good quality video,” said Lt. Morgan.
Morgan says the suspect acknowledged his wrongdoing.
“He knew that what he had done was wrong and he apologized for it and said that he made a mistake,”
Investigators say they aren't sure how long the video taping in the restroom had been going on, but believe this as an isolated incident.
Right now, they are going through Ventura’s home. They're looking for more tape .to see if there are any more victims.
Authorities say Ventura is an immigrant from Mexico and at the time of his arrest had an expired work visa.
He's being held in the Geneva County Jail on no bond.
