Troy students walk to beach for diabetes

TROY, Ala. (AP) - Four fraternity brothers from Troy University
are starting a 125-mile walk from Troy to the beach to promote
awareness of diabetes.

Kyle Crabtree of Dadeville and Austin Bivins of Clanton say they
got the idea when a man wearing a Super Man costume walked into a
restaurant.

They never did figure out why he had the costume, but it gave them the idea to do something big.

They recruited two other members of Alpha Tau Omega - Jacob Laan of Fort Payne and Ethan Brown of Highland Home.

Their schedule calls for them to depart Troy on Monday and
arrive in Panama City, Fla., on Saturday afternoon.

Crabtree says they hope to raise about $5,000 along the way to
send children with diabetes to summer camp.
